Gallery Players presents a filmed production of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth this fall. After receiving a prophecy from three witches that he will one day become King of Scotland, Macbeth is consumed by ambition and encouraged by his wife to do whatever it takes to become the new king. Wracked with guilt and paranoia, the bloodbath and consequent civil war swiftly take Macbeth and Lady Macbeth into the realms of madness.

Cast & Creative Bios

Raz Ayer (Macbeth): was born in Turkey and grew up in Milan, Italy. In 2017, he moved to NYC and studied at Stella Adler Studio of Acting. He has been seen in productions of The Cripple of Inishmaan, The Goat, Twelfth Night. Raz is grateful for his family’s love and support on his career.

Samantha Ipema (Lady Macbeth): is a graduate of Stella Adler Studio Conservatory, Class of 2020. She can be seen in Escape 2120 as the female lead, Nalia, and Driftless as Meg, both streaming on Amazon Prime. She is also excited to be joining Hamlet Isn’t Dead as a resident actor in the company for 2021.

Jason Schlaman (Banquo): makes his Gallery Players debut with Macbeth. A recent graduate of Pace University’s Acting for Film, Television, Voice Over and Commercials program, Jason is excited and grateful to have had an opportunity to work with such a talented cast and crew before having to wait too many tables. Jason thanks you for your support and hopes you enjoy the show!

Jonathan Dauermann (Porter/Murderer 1): is delighted to be returning to Gallery Players after making his debut in the 2017 Black Box New Play Festival in the short play, A Remarkable Man. For more info on Jonathan’s past and future credits, please visit www.jonathandauermann.com.

Devin Romero (Malcolm): is an actor based in NYC, originally from Edinburg, TX. He studied acting at the University of Texas RGV before moving to NY. He is now a graduate of Circle in the Square Theatre School (Class of 2020) and looks forward to the future of his acting career.

Nick Stevens (Macduff): hails from Middletown, NY and is a product of the SUNY Fredonia Acting program. Regional credits include Romeo and Juliet, The Winter’s Tale, Much Ado About Nothing, and Macbeth with Shakespeare in Delaware Park, A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Irish Classical Theatre Company, Spring Awakening with MusicalFare Theatre.

Nicky Khor (Lennox): Graduate of Whitman College and NTI: Theatermakers. Nicky is an actor, collaborator, and martial artist. Recent credits include Demetrius/Flute (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and Jack (The Importance of Being Earnest). Legend has it he’s the reason the Mona Lisa smiles.

Byron Hagan (Captain/Messenger 1): Originally from Houston, TX, Byron is an MFA graduate from The Actors Studio Drama School. He is the proud dad of two boys, Thomas and Teddy! He has played John Merrick in The Elephant Man, and recently, Valentine in The Two Gentlemen of Verona. Catch his original radio play, The Thief in Disguise, on the Season 1 finale of the podcast Vintage Old Biddy. You can also hear him in as the lead in the Twilight Zone-esque podcast Dark Valley, Episode 8 – Try Again. His original short horror film, The Thing in the Woods, will premiere this fall! Sophy Drouin (First Witch/Messenger 2): recently graduated from the Stella Adler Professional Conservatory in New York City, ending her program in the roles of Lydia in Microcrisis, and Elizabeth in Escape from Happiness. She resides in Brooklyn and is excited to have joined the artistic workforce, with Macbeth’s Witch 1 as her first professional NYC role.

Flavia Zanguini (Second Witch/Gentlewoman): is an actress and a dancer. She started her career as a classical ballerina and dance led her to acting. Flavia is very passionate about using art to promote social change. She’s very excited and grateful to be part of Macbeth with Gallery Players. Kate Marcom (Third Witch/Lady Macduff): made her Gallery Players debut in last season’s Black Box New Play Festival as Deanna in Deanna and Paul directed by Trent Dawson. She trained at American Conservatory Theater in S.F. while acting in various film and theater productions across the Bay Area and LA. She is thrilled to be back on the Gallery Players stage performing the roles of Third Witch and Lady Macduff.

Daniel Madigan (Donalbain/Murderer 2): is a sophomore at SUNY Purchase’s acting BFA. He’s excited to be a part of this show and never had so much fun wearing a cloak.

Robert McKeon (Duncan/Doctor): is thrilled to be a part of Macbeth with Gallery Players and thanks the amazing Caroline Thomas for the coaching with these incredible roles. He has been acting and studying in New York for over 30 years.

Edgar Danahy (Macduff’s Son): is 12 years old and goes to Brooklyn Urban Garden Middle School. Previous experience includes theatre camps at Piper Theatre, Young Players Theatre, and Gallery Players. He is a Suzuki Violin student at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. This is his first full length production.

Dominic Cuskern (Producer): is President of the board of directors of Gallery Players. He has been with the theatre for over 30 years where he acts, directs, and teaches Shakespeare.

Emily LaRosa (Stage Manager): is pursuing a BFA in Technical Theatre at Brooklyn College. Select credits include …Weasel Festival (The Public Theatre), Losing Everything (Urban Planet Pictures), The Winter’s Tale, Gloria (Brooklyn College), HiTops (Theatre 315), Little Women, A New Brain ( Gallery Players). Zev Burrows (Composer): a composer and lyricist for stage and screen. His musical The Pledge was selected for the 2019 New Works Lab at James Madison University and has had music placed on many major TV and streaming networks. This is his 4th project with Gallery Players. www.zevburrowsmusic.com

Jonas Barranca (Fight Choreographer): An actor and stunt performer you can view his work on CBS, FOX, CW, NBC, HBO, STARZ & Amazon. Additional Fight Choreography includes Cabaret (Gallery Players); Casa Valentina, Overtones, A Raisin in the Sun (Heights Players); Arizona (Ryan Repertory Theater); The Ballerina (Theatre Lab), and more. Steven Brenman (Set Designer): is Resident Design Member of the Letter of Marque Ensemble (Double Falsehood, The Pinocchio Project, Emo Storytime: The Little Mermaid, Isle Full of Noises) and has “recently” designed for Theatre East (Petie, Holy Ghosts), Smith Street Stage (Lear), Strike Anywhere (Pop Up), and Stella Adler Studios (The Seagull, Bombed, Hot l Baltimore, and The Ruby Sunrise).

Meghan McQueeney (Props Designer):
is thrilled to be working with Gallery Players. Noel MacDuffie (Lighting Designer): has designed lights for theater, dance, and film. His work has been seen at the Huntington Ballet (now Ballet Long Island) as well as locally and internationally.
