Steel Magnolias AuditionsFebruary 17, 2019 - February 18, 2019The Gallery Players in Park Slope is holding auditions for its upcoming AEA showcase production (approval pending) of STEEL MAGNOLIAS by Robert Harling (April 13 – 28, 2019). Director, Avital Asuleen. Co-Producers: Dominic Cuskern and Marty Goldin. STEEL MAGNOLIAS examines the relationships between a tight-knit group of southern ladies in a small-town beauty parlor, who witness the milestones in each other’s lives. The play is alternately hilarious and touching – and, in the end, deeply revealing of the strength and purposefulness which underlies the antic banter of its characters. Performances run April 13th – 28th (Thursday – Saturday nights, and Saturday and Sunday matinees). Rehearsals start Sunday, March 10th and take place evenings and weekends. All auditions, rehearsals, and performances will take place at the Gallery Players, 199 14th Street, Brooklyn. Equity/Non-Equity. No pay. We encourage all ethnicities and races to attend. Seeking:
Sign-up will start 30 minutes before the start of auditions. Please bring your headshot and resume. Prepare a one-minute contemporary monologue. It can be comic or serious. The monologue doesn’t have to be in an American southern accent but you will be asked about your facility with a southern accent. Gallery Players is located at 199 14th Street in Brooklyn. Take the F, G, or R train to Fourth Avenue / 9th Street. |
